At the suggestion of the Council of Heads of Australian Entomological Collections, the C.V.R.I.C will conduct a training course for entomological technicians working with research collections of insects and related organisms for taxonomic study and identification.

The course is designed to teach participants how to collect, prepare and curate entomological material to a stage ready for scientific identification by taxonomists. The course will comprise a series of demonstrations on these aspects as they relate to the major orders of insects and related arthropods. Specimen identification will not be covered in the course. All demonstrations will be conducted by C.V.R.I.C staff expert in the area of concern.

The course will be conducted daily over a one week period commencing in 2024.

COURSE UNIT REQUIREMENTS: Students for the Entomological Technicians Course must complete the Introduction to Entomology Course CVRIC-10M Certificate prior to enrolling.
