Most invertebrates are small, unfamiliar and unseen, but they play a vital role in maintaining healthy soil ecosystems. Soil is vital to our existence and the activity of tiny creatures that inhabit a healthy soil are often never noticed or appreciated.
This Two Part Course will introduce you to the microscopic world of the soil biota and allow you to see and appreciate their function up close. Each group will be presented and discussed during 'Live' microscopic demonstrations. Each invertebrate group will be described visually and in detail along with its biology and habits. The function each group plays within healthy soils will also be described.
This Module is ideally suited to Organic Farmers, Gardeners, Conservationists and Landowners interested in increasing soil productivity and biodiversity on their land and students will find this course helpful and informative.
